AVEK scores gains in financing move
PALMDALE, CA – Action taken in the second quarter by management and board of the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency to refinance Certificates of Participation (COPs) issued in 2007 and 2008 has decreased the Agency’s outstanding debt by $9,675,000, and reduced the average annual debt service payment by $469,061.

Court approves settlement of AV groundwater case
PALMDALE, CA – The Antelope Valley – East Kern Water Agency received formal notification Thursday that the judge presiding over the 16 year old Antelope Valley Groundwater Adjudication case has approved a Stipulated Judgment, clearing the way for groundwater management.

Mud damage curtails water delivery
PALMDALE, CA –Mud slide damage to a section of the California Aqueduct led Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency to notify its customers Wednesday of a projected three to four- week reduction in supplemental water deliveries while repairs are made.

AVEK Honors Memory of Longest Serving Director
PALMDALE, CA – Directors of the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency (AVEK) adjourned their board meeting Tuesday in memory of the Agency’s longest serving director, Carl B. Hunter, Jr., who passed-away Saturday, October 10th, following a lengthy illness. He was 80 years old.

AVEK Grants Help Water District Customers
QUARTZ HILL, CA – In mid-June the Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency presented a $13,950 check to Quartz Hill Water District for the Water Conservation Grant Program offered to district customers. This support is part of the $430,000 made available under the AVEK Water Conservation Grant Program for fiscal years 2014 and 2015.
